System users who wish to receive or deliver electricity from or into the transmission network must be connected and have access to the network.
A new producers or a new consumers have the right to connect to the network and those that are already connected have the right to have their connected power increased in accordance with the prescribed conditions.
Network users have to submit to HOPS application for a new connection or increase in connected power of an existing connection. HOPS will consider technical possibilities for carrying out the connection, approve it and calculate the connection charge in accordance with the Rules on the Charge for Connection to the Electric Network and Increase in Connected Power.
As part of the process of connecting to the network or increasing the connected power, a producer or a customer conclude a connection contract with the transmission system operator in accordance with the conditions of the connection approval, the provisions of General Conditions of Electricity Supply, Grid Code and Rules on the Charge for Connection to the Electric Network and Increase in Connected Power.
The connection charge is intended for the financing of construction of the connection and for creating the technical conditions in the network.
The amount of the charge for connecting to the network or for increasing the connected power depends on the voltage level of the connection and on the connected power.
