What are ancillary services?
Pursuant to Electricity Market Act (Official Gazette 22/13, 102/15/, 68/18, 52/19), system services are defined as services necessary for the operation of a transmission or distribution system:
- power system operation
- load-frequency (LFC) control
- voltage control and power system restoration.
The responsibility of TSOs and DSOs is to procure power system services.
Pursuant to Electricity Market Act (Official Gazette 22/13, 102/15/, 68/18, 52/19), ancillary services are defined as available single services necessary for provision of power system services. Ancillary serviced are procured by TSO from end users capable for provision of power system services.
The rules on provision of power system services are defined in the contracts between the TSO and service providers.
