EIC - Local Issuing Office

ENTSO-E (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity) is an association that promotes closer cooperation across Europe's transmission system operators. ENTSO-E's central issuing office and in certain European countries Local Issuing Offices manage administrative organization of EIC (Energy Identification Code) codes.

HOPS manages the Local Issuing Office and performs all activities related to allocation and updates of the unique energy codes that Croatian energy subjects (Balance Responsible Parties, Suppliers, Producers...) need to participate in market  processes of local and joint energy markets.

Office allocates two types of codes: international (published on the webpage of central issuing office and on the webpage of the local issuing office for EIC codes – e.g. allocated for activities on one or several geographical area(s) which may cross borders with another country and/or for any other activities outside the limits of Croatian area) and local codes (published only on the webpage of Croatian Issuing office – e.g. for activities limited to an area of operation in Croatia and is not used in another country).

Remark: company function attribute associated with EIC code does not represent license for carrying out the chosen activity, but is used as a description needed for public announcement of the allocated EIC codes list in accordance with definitions of EIC functions used by Central Issuing Office.
